Can I hose, steam spray, or use water to clean the kennel system?
- By all means - YES! The materials we use to build the kennel systems are meant to get wet and will not break down with water.
Kennels can be cleaned with:- Mild soaps
- Disinfectants
- Mild bleach solutions
- Organic cleansers
- Water
- No - We've found that silicone is a hazard because dogs and cats will eventually work a piece loose and ingest it.
- Our kennels are engineered to be watertight without needing silicone.
Do I need to repaint any scratched or damaged areas to prevent water from damaging the kennel?
- First of all, the only painted part of the kennel is the gate - and that is only if you choose to have it powder coated. Powder Coating is extremely tough and designed to not scratch off.
- Second, any paint is merely an aesthetic covering. The materials we use -by nature, will not absorb water.
Can I stack heavy objects on top of the kennel?
- We do not recommend stacking heavy objects on top of the kennels for a number of reasons:
- First, the kennel is designed to hold a specific sized dog (or cat) and not heavy objects.
- Second, many of our kennel systems are built to maximize floor space - making them tall. If you stack heavy objects that high, they are liable to fall and that could be a major hazard!
- Third, over time, a heavy object could cause the kennel to sag.
What if I want to build a kennel that isn't pictured or listed on the website?
- Not a problem! We will work with you to help build the exact kennel or kennel system that you need. We will listen to your requirements and our engineers will figure out the best way to make it happen.
